Permit Amnesty is operated by Kobzev Pro Contracting Group Inc., a California-licensed Class B general contractor (CSLB #1148495). This policy explains what information we collect through permitamnesty.com and the confidential feasibility assessment process, how we use it, and what choices you have.
This policy covers how we handle your personal information. It does not describe what is or isn’t filed with a city or county building department — that is a separate question, addressed as part of the assessment itself. We do not submit anything to a public agency on your behalf unless you decide to proceed and authorize it.
Information We Collect
We collect only what the assessment actually needs.
Contact information. An email address and/or phone number so we can reach you. We do not require your full legal name or identification to request a Preliminary Assessment — how you are related to the property is your business, not a field on our form.
Property information. The property address, and any photos, permit history, or description of the structure you choose to provide. Listing photos and public records are enough for a preliminary read — you do not need to submit more than you have.
Payment information. When you purchase an assessment, payment is processed by Stripe. We do not receive or store your full card number; the processor handles that directly.
Website usage information. Standard technical data collected automatically when you visit the site — pages viewed, general location (city/region level), device and browser type, and how you arrived at the site. We use cookies and analytics tools for this; see Section 5.
- How We Use Your Information
- To prepare and deliver your feasibility assessment and report.
- To communicate with you about your order — confirmations, your intake link, status updates, and your final report.
- To process payment and handle refunds under our stated terms.
- To improve the site and understand which pages and content are useful to visitors.
- To meet legal and accounting obligations.
We do not use anything you submit to file a report, complaint, or inquiry with any city, county, or code enforcement authority. Nothing leaves our process unless you decide to move forward.
Who We Share It With
Your information is shared only where the assessment requires it:
- Independent licensed engineer. On the Engineer-Reviewed and On-Site tiers, relevant property information is shared with the independent licensed engineer conducting the review, under their own license.
- Construction partners. Only if you choose to proceed with construction after your assessment. Our primary construction partner is Kobzev Pro Contracting Group Inc. (CSLB #1148495); you are free to take your report to any licensed contractor you choose, and nothing is shared with a contractor without your decision to proceed.
- Service providers who help us operate. Our payment processor, email delivery service, and website analytics provider. These providers only receive what they need to do that job, and are not permitted to use it for their own purposes.
- Legal or safety reasons. If required by law, subpoena, or court order, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of Permit Amnesty, our clients, or others.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it with third parties for their own marketing or advertising purposes.
Cookies & Analytics
We use analytics tools (including Google Analytics) and standard website cookies to understand site traffic and improve the site. These tools may set cookies in your browser and collect information such as pages visited and general location. You can block or delete cookies through your browser settings; the site will still work, though some features may not function as smoothly.
Data Retention
We keep the information from your assessment for as long as needed to deliver the service, support any follow-up work you request, and meet our legal and accounting obligations. If you submit an intake but do not complete it, that information is 30 d.
Your Privacy Rights
If you are a California resident, you may have the right to ask what personal information we have collected about you, to request a copy of it, to ask us to delete it, and to opt out of any sale or sharing of it — though as described above, we do not sell or share personal information for marketing purposes in the first place. To make a request, contact us using the details in Section 9. We will not discriminate against you for exercising these rights.
If you are located outside California or the United States, your information may still be handled as described in this policy; local law in your location may also apply.
Security
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect the information you share with us. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Children’s Privacy
This site and our services are intended for adults arranging an assessment for a property. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 16.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The effective date at the top will reflect the most recent change. If changes are significant, we will note that on this page.
